Awareness activities are designed to promote understanding, interest and enjoyment of the Forest and provide a unique and memorable experience. Our activities are designed around the participants to provide them with enjoyable tasks that are ‘hands-on’ and enable participants to boost their self confidence.
Activities can include:
- Guided walks
- Woodland Crafts and shelter building
- Environmental activities and games
- Teamwork activities
Awareness activities aim to enthuse participants about woodland habitats and help them to discover and appreciate woodland and wild spaces in their own local area. We aim to promote understanding of the importance of woodlands as a habitat for wildlife, a recreational site for people and a source of wood for commercial purposes.
Our activities are available to groups of all ages and abilities and take place in a safe and supportive atmosphere. We provide all equipment and instruction, all of our activities are fully risk assessed, our staff are all CRB checked and qualified first aid staff are present at all activities. In order to ensure our activities are available to all we make no charge for our services however, we ask groups to make a donation to the work of EFCT if they are able to. This enables us to continue working with disadvantaged groups.
